CHESS UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Est. 2015. A WaTFORD SUNDAY FRIENDLY LEAGUE TEAM

About us

Chess United Football Club is a newly formed 11 a side adult football team that is entered in to the Watford Friendly Sunday League. With the original aim of giving a bunch of friends somewhere more exciting and competitive to play other than power league once a week, the team and club was set up to offer just this. With 22 players signed prior to our fist season, and our very first match together, a local friendly, a winning score of 13-2 looks promising enough. With full training on a Friday afternoon and casual training on a Tuesday afternoon, as a team we are striving to get the best from all of our players. As a new team, being entered in to the bottom division, Division 4, we are hopeful of gaining promotion as quickly as possible where we can be tested even further.

As a small local Sunday team, we have high costs due to the league, and we welcome ยงยงยง as our club sponsor for the 2015/15 and following 2016/17 season.

The name, Chess United Football Club, was chosen from a vote of other names by all the first few members of the club based upon where we all live, around the River Chess in Rickmansworth. The club crest was then drawn up by our club secretary and was again put to vote to see what everyone else thought. Thankfully everyone liked it, so with a little more tinkering, we are left with the crest you see today. Our home colours are Red with a hint of white, while our away colours are White with a hint of red.

Our Home pitch is:
Maple Cross
Denham Way
